Our Story

MAHN was created out of a recognised need for professional development for those working in metabolic bariatric surgery and obesity management.

In 2019, Kathy Benn, then a board member of ANZMOSS, identified this need, then created and led teams of respected experts to deliver key initiatives, including:

• The ANZMOSS Integrated Health Roadshow in Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne (2021)

• The two-day ANZMOSS IH Professional Development Course in Melbourne (2023), now known as the Obesity Care Masterclass.

• Bariatric Surgery Nutritional Education in Sydney (2023), with Shine Dietetics

Building on this strong foundation, MAHN launched in 2024 to advance holistic, multidisciplinary care and professional collaboration.
