Professor Louise Baur AM, PresAHMS

 

Louise Alison Baur is Professor of Child & Adolescent Health and a National Health & Medical Research Council Leadership Fellow at the University of Sydney.

She is a consultant paediatrician in Weight Management Services at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, a program which she established for the multidisciplinary care of children and young people with severe obesity. She has made research contributions in many aspects of the treatment and the prevention of child and adolescent obesity and in paediatric nutrition and aspects of food policy.

Louise is President of the Australian Academy of Health & Medical Sciences (2023-2026) and Immediate Past-President of the World Obesity Federation (2024-2026).
