Dr Catherine Bacus

Dr Catherine Bacus is a past chair of the RACGP Specific Interest Group – Obesity Management. She is also the founder and director of Alevia Medical Weight Loss, a group of primary care clinics specialising in medical obesity management.

Catherine is dedicated to alleviating the stigma and burden of obesity that patients live with, through evidenced based approaches to weight management, understanding the complex drivers of weight gain, and assisting her patients with compassion and empathy. She has trained and mentored several GPs and is committed to educating and upskilling GPs so that more patients can access the care that they deserve.
